    Playing Tennis & Pickleball on the Outer Banks, NC

    Tennis and pickleball enthusiasts don’t have to take a break from playing while vacationing!

    If tennis or pickleball is a hobby of yours, don’t forget your favorite racket or paddle when packing for your Outer Banks visit. There are a few spots along the Outer Banks to get together with your fellow tennis or pickleball enthusiasts and enjoy a few matches on a different court than you’re used to. There are several subdivisions within the different towns that offer tennis court access to guests staying within the specific subdivision, but there are also courts that are entirely open to the public allowing anyone to play! Below is a tennis and pickleball court guide for those who wish to keep their skills sharp even while on vacation.

    For the most up-to-date information on court availability and hours, be sure to call ahead to ensure you know if there are any fees associated with playing or if there are scheduled events that might impact your ability to get on the court. With a little planning, you can enjoy some court time during your Outer Banks getaway!

    First Flight High School – 100 Veteran Drive, Kill Devil Hills – Tennis courts open to the public after school/practice hours

    Dowdy Park – 3005 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head – Pickleball court (reservations not available)

    Manteo High School – 829 Wingina Avenue, Manteo – Tennis courts open to the public after school/practice hours
